Submissions are now open for the short film competition of the Brugger Dokumentarfilmtage 2025.

The Brugger Dokumentarfilmtage Film Festival has been taking place since 2021 – the only film festival in German-speaking Switzerland dedicated exclusively to documentary films.

The number of guests in 2023 has doubled compared to the last edition of the festival, with around 2000 tickets sold.

The small town of Brugg experienced a noticeable touch of international flair during the festival days and showed its hospitable side.

In addition to international cinema guests, around 25 filmmakers from Switzerland and Europe also spent some nights in Brugg.

For the first time, a competition for young filmmakers from Europe was held as part of the festival in 2023. Around 120 films were submitted and assessed by a jury. The winner was announced at the award ceremony: Filmmaker Morgane Frund from Lausanne won the jury prize of CHF 2,500 and the audience prize of CHF 500 with her short documentary ‘Ours’.

The next edition of the Brugger Dokumentarfilmtage will take place in September 2025.
